Teiken Promotions on Monday made a second press conference of its world title tripleheader to support the WBC bantamweight title go of Takuma Inoue and #1 Tenshin Nasukawa on September 27. Unbeaten WBC#1 Tomoya Tsuboi (3-0-1NC, 2 KOs; amateur 106-25, 10 stoppages) will meet South African Ricardo Malajika (17-2, 12 KOs) in quest of the vacant WBC super fly belt at Toyota Arena in Tokyo. Tsuboi, former gold medalist of world amateur championship in Serbia in 2021, will tie the national record of winning a world belt in a shortest professional career of just five bouts with Kosei Tanaka in 2015, if successful.
In another title bout, ex-IBF 118-pound ruler Ryosuke Nishida (11-1, 2 KOs) will square off against Australian Sam Goodman (22-1, 8 KOs) for the IBF interim super bantamweight title since the current undisputed 122-pound titleholder Naoya Inoue declared that he would not defend his belts until early next year. As their credentials indicate, neither of Nishida and Goodman are hard-punchers but sharpshooters with excellent speed and skills. It may be a highly competitive technical contest.
