Former Ghana international Matthew Amoah has parted ways with Dutch club NAC Breda following the team’s relegation from the Eredivisie at the end of the 2025/26 season.

Amoah, who served as the club’s strikers’ coach, was appointed in January in an effort to improve the team’s attacking performances and help secure survival in the Dutch top flight. However, NAC Breda were unable to maintain their place in the league after a disappointing campaign that ended in relegation.

The former Black Stars forward leaves alongside several members of the club’s technical staff as part of a restructuring process following the club’s drop to the second tier.

NAC Breda also confirmed the departures of experienced Ghanaian players Andre Ayew and Dennis Odoi after the expiration of their contracts. Both players featured for the club during the season and brought experience to the squad during the relegation battle.

Amoah enjoyed a successful playing career in the Netherlands and remains highly respected at NAC Breda, where he previously starred as a striker before moving into coaching.
