Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has outlined his vision for Ghana’s campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, stressing that unity, discipline, and sacrifice will be essential if the team is to succeed on football’s biggest stage.
Speaking in an interview on Beyond The Whistle, the experienced tactician said talent alone would not guarantee success unless players, officials, and supporters rallied behind one common goal — the pride of the nation and the happiness of Ghanaians.
Queiroz, who has coached at several FIFA World Cups with Portugal and Iran, noted that every country dreams of winning the tournament, but only teams willing to endure the difficult process earn success.
The Portuguese trainer revealed he has intensified efforts to study Ghana’s domestic football structure and monitor local talents with assistance from the Ghana Football Association. According to him, a special observation programme has enabled him to assess some of the country’s best home-based players within a short period.
He also stressed that no player would be placed above the team, insisting commitment and teamwork must remain central to the Black Stars’ rebuilding process ahead of the tournament in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Queiroz further highlighted the importance of preparation, including fitness, nutrition, physiotherapy, tactical discipline, and set-piece organization as Ghana targets a strong showing at the 2026 World Cup.
