German-born Ghanaian Daniel-Kofi Kyereh is expected to leave SC Freiburg at the end of the season after both parties reportedly agreed to part ways.

The 30-year-old midfielder joined Freiburg in 2022 following an impressive stint with FC St. Pauli, where he established himself as one of the standout performers in the Bundesliga II.

However, Kyereh’s time at Freiburg was heavily disrupted by injury after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in early 2023. The setback kept him sidelined for nearly three years before recently making his long-awaited return to action.

The versatile playmaker has since featured twice for Freiburg’s U-23 side and has already registered two goal involvements, showing encouraging signs after his lengthy recovery period.

Despite his return, reports in Germany indicate Freiburg are already planning for life without the midfielder, with Kyereh not expected to feature again for the club’s senior team before the end of the campaign.

The Ghana international is now fully fit again and is believed to be eager to relaunch his career elsewhere as he targets a place in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Daniel-Kofi Kyereh has openly expressed his desire to represent the Black Stars at the upcoming Mundial and will now be hoping for regular playing time at his next club to strengthen his chances of earning a call-up.
