Spain international winger Nico Williams has been sidelined for three weeks following an injury setback during Athletic Bilbao’s narrow defeat to Valencia CF.
The 23-year-old was forced off in the 36th minute of the La Liga clash at the San Mamés Stadium having left the pitch after only 36 minutes and was replaced by Inaki Williams.
Williams, has been in impressive form this season, registering six goals and three assists in 25 league appearances.
The enterprising attacker, who has Ghanaian roots, will miss the remainder of the club season but is expected to make a full recovery in time for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The expanded global tournament is scheduled to run from June 11 to July 19, 2026, offering the talented winger ample time to regain full fitness and stake his claim for a place in Spain’s squad.
