The Black Satellites recorded a 4-2 victory over lower division side Koforidua Semper Fi in a friendly match played earlier today at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.
It was an encouraging performance from the national U-20 men side as Osei Tutu, Issah Barhama, Ramsey Asumadu and Kyran Amankwah all got on the scoresheet in a deserved win for the former world champions.
Head coach Maxwell Konadu continues to work on building a competitive and redoubtable squad capable of competing strongly and bringing back the glory days of the Satelites.
The technical team has intensified preparations as they begin shaping the next generation of players for the national team.
Preparations are also underway for the 2027 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, which Ghana is set to host. The Black Satellites will be aiming to make a strong impression on home soil and compete for continental glory.
The 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup winners, however, will miss out on the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Azerbaijan after suffering a quarterfinal exit at the last U-20 AFCON tournament held last year.
Despite that disappointment, the Black Satellites remain determined to bounce back strongly and will hope to enjoy another successful tournament at home, similar to their triumph at the 13th African Games in 2023.
