Ghana international Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has issued an apology to supporters of Leicester City following the club’s relegation from the EFL Championship, describing the outcome as deeply disappointing.

In a message shared on Instagram, the winger thanked fans for their unwavering support since the beginning of the season, acknowledging their loyalty despite a difficult campaign. He admitted that the team’s performances fell short of expectations, stressing that finishing the season in such circumstances was “not what we work for” and “not good enough.”

Issahaku’s comments come after Leicester’s relegation confirmed a frustrating end to the season, prompting reflection from players and supporters alike. The 21-year-old expressed regret over the club’s situation, effectively apologising to fans for the outcome.

Despite the setback, Issahaku remained optimistic about the future, describing the club as “amazing” and voicing confidence in a strong comeback. He emphasised belief within the squad, noting that lessons from the disappointing season would serve as motivation to return stronger in the next campaign.
