Ghana’s U-17 national team, the Black Starlets, will face Ivory Coast’s Young Elephants in a two-match international friendly series as part of preparations for the upcoming U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Both matches are scheduled to take place at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpe, with the first fixture set for Tuesday, April 28, and the second on Friday, May 1. The encounters are expected to provide both teams with a vital opportunity to fine-tune tactics and assess squad readiness ahead of the continental showpiece.

The Black Starlets will depart Ghana on April 26 for Abidjan before travelling onward to Ebimpe. Head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has underscored the importance of the friendlies, noting that strong opposition is crucial at this stage of preparation.

He believes playing away against Ivory Coast will test his team’s mentality, structure, and ability to perform under pressure. The coach also highlighted that the matches will play a key role in shaping his final squad and tactical approach.

Ghana has been drawn in a competitive Group D alongside Senegal, Algeria, and South Africa, raising expectations for a strong tournament showing.
