Ghanaian attacker Ernest Nuamah has suffered a fresh setback in his recovery, delaying his long-awaited return to action for Olympique Lyonnais.
The 22-year-old winger had been nearing a comeback after spending close to a year on the sidelines following a knee injury sustained in April last year.
He was expected to return to the pitch about two weeks ago, but picked up a knock during training, forcing another delay.
Reports indicate that Nuamah has now resumed individual training as he continues his recovery process. However, he will not be available for Lyon’s upcoming fixture against AJ Auxerre.
The latest development comes as a blow for both the player and club, with Nuamah having worked his way back to fitness after a lengthy layoff.
He will now aim to fully recover and regain match sharpness before making his return to competitive action.
