Asante Kotoko interim head coach Prince Yaw Owusu has resigned from his position with immediate effect, bringing an abrupt end to his tenure at the club. In his resignation letter, Owusu indicated that his decision was made in the best interest of the club, though no further details were disclosed.
The club’s management has since acknowledged his departure, expressing gratitude for his service, dedication, and commitment during his time in charge. In an official statement signed by Communications Director Sarfo Duku Esq, the club extended its well wishes to Owusu in his future endeavours.
Following his exit, Youth Team Coach Hamza Obeng has been appointed to take charge of the senior team on an interim basis for the remainder of the season. The decision is seen as a short-term measure as the club works to stabilize its technical setup.
Management also noted that further arrangements regarding the coaching structure will be communicated in due course, leaving open the possibility of a permanent appointment after the season concludes.
