FIFA President Gianni Infantino has extended condolences on behalf of the global football community following the tragic death of Dominic Frimpong.

The 20-year-old Berekum Chelsea winger reportedly lost his life in an attack after his side’s Ghana Premier League fixture against FC Samartex 1996.

In a message of sympathy, Infantino expressed deep sorrow over the incident, describing the young player’s passing as tragic. He conveyed condolences to Frimpong’s family, friends, and teammates, as well as to the entire club.

The FIFA president noted that the thoughts of the international football community are with all those affected during this difficult time, highlighting the sense of loss felt across the sport.

Frimpong’s death has sent shockwaves through Ghanaian football, with tributes continuing to pour in from governing bodies, clubs, and fans both locally and internationally.

Authorities are still expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the reported attack, as calls grow for justice and improved security for teams traveling for domestic competitions.

The incident adds to a growing wave of concern within the football fraternity, with stakeholders urging swift action to ensure the safety of players and officials.
