Former Saudi Arabia national team head coach, Hervé Renard, has reportedly expressed his readiness to take charge of the Black Stars of Ghana, sources close to the Frenchman have confirmed.

His availability comes following the dismissal of Ghana’s former head coach, Otto Addo, last month, around the same period Renard also parted ways with the Saudi national team.

Despite his interest in leading Ghana at the upcoming World Cup and potentially beyond, Renard has reportedly been overlooked by the Ghana Football Association (GFA), as he is yet to be formally approached.

Recent reports indicate that several other coaches, including Slaven Bilić, Tom Saintfiet, Paulo Bento, and Fernando Santos, have been linked to the vacant position, with the GFA said to have made contact with some of them. Renard, however, remains on the sidelines.

Ghana is expected to open its 2026 World Cup campaign against Panama in less than 65 days, with England and Croatia also featuring in the group.
