The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) held a pull-out ceremony on Friday to honour Assistant Chief Fire Officer (ACFO) Isaac Saah, marking his retirement after years of dedicated service.

The colourful event, held at the Weija Fire Station, brought together senior and junior officers, family members, and well-wishers to celebrate ACFO Saah’s commitment, discipline, and contributions to fire safety in Ghana.

Greater Accra Regional Fire Officer (RFO) Rashad Nisawu praised ACFO Saah for his professionalism, describing him as a role model for younger officers. “ACFO Saah has served this Service with diligence and honour. His commitment to duty is exemplary, and he leaves behind a legacy worth emulating,” he said.

Throughout his career, ACFO Saah distinguished himself through hard work, competence, and responsibility, steadily rising through the ranks.

RFO Nisawu also highlighted a growing concern: the hostility some fire officers face during emergency operations. He urged the public to cooperate, noting that attacks or obstruction not only endanger firefighters but also worsen fire outbreaks and lead to avoidable losses. “Firefighters are not your enemies; we are here to help,” he stressed.

ACFO Saah expressed gratitude to the GNFS, colleagues, and family for their support over the years. “I encourage the younger officers to remain committed and disciplined because the job requires sacrifice,” he said.

The ceremony concluded with a symbolic pull-out parade and the presentation of citations as officers bid farewell to ACFO Saah.
