The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has opened negotiations with former Germany head coach Joachim Low over the vacant Black Stars position, following the departure of Otto Addo.

Sources indicate that initial discussions between both parties have been positive, with Low reportedly expressing interest in taking up the role as Ghana intensifies preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The 2014 World Cup-winning coach is currently assessing key aspects of the job, including the squad, technical structure and the GFA’s long-term vision. His vast experience at the highest level and ability to manage elite talent are said to make him a strong contender for the position.

The GFA’s move reflects its determination to rebuild the national team after a string of disappointing results in recent international outings. With the World Cup fast approaching, the association is keen to appoint a new coach ahead of the next international window.

Ghana face a challenging task at the tournament, having been drawn alongside England, Croatia and Panama.

Negotiations are expected to cover contract terms, technical staff composition and immediate performance targets, as the GFA pushes to conclude talks swiftly.
