Ghanaian music icon Okyeame Kwame is set to turn 50 this April, and he’s choosing to celebrate in true legacy fashion by building a paediatric emergency centre at Manhyia District Hospital in Kumasi.

The ambitious project, which forms the centerpiece of his milestone birthday celebrations, aims to strengthen emergency healthcare services for children, reflecting Okyeame Kwame’s enduring commitment to national development beyond the music studio.

As part of the celebration, the Ghanaian music icon will host a star-studded birthday event on April 18 at +233 Jazz Bar & Grill in Accra, running from 9 p.m. till late.

Ghanaian music lovers can expect electrifying performances from a lineup of top artistes including Kuame Eugene, Kidi, King Paluta, Amerado, MzVee, Sista Afia, Afriyie Wutah, Kwabena Kwabena, Kweku Darlington, Abiana, Akwaboah, Abochi, Bradez, Ras Kuuku, Adina, and Andy Dosty.

Tickets are priced at GHS1,500 for VVIP and GHS1,000 for VIP, with all proceeds directed toward the construction of the pediatric emergency centre—a gift that promises to save countless young lives in Kumasi.

Over the years, Okyeame Kwame has consistently championed Ghanaian culture and identity, incorporating indigenous languages like Akan into his music, promoting the “Made in Ghana” agenda, and representing the country on global arts and tourism platforms.

By dedicating his 50th birthday to a project with lasting impact, Okyeame Kwame reinforces his image not only as a celebrated entertainer but also as a nation builder committed to meaningful change.
