Global sportswear brand PUMA has revealed the inspiration behind Ghana’s new Black Stars kits for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, describing the designs as bold and culturally significant.

The kits were officially unveiled on March 19, 2026, in New York City, showcasing both modern aesthetics and traditional influences. According to PUMA, the home kit features a white base symbolizing Ghana’s identity, energy and rhythm, with geometric patterns in red, yellow and green representing the nation’s colours in motion. The iconic Black Star is placed at the center to reflect unity and pride.

The away kit draws heavily from Ghana’s cultural heritage, incorporating a Kente-inspired pattern across a yellow jersey, complemented by red detailing. PUMA noted that the design is intended to convey power and optimism while celebrating tradition.

Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan attended the launch and praised the brand’s enduring partnership with Ghana, highlighting his personal connection to PUMA.

Ghana will wear the new kits at the 2026 World Cup in North America, where they are set to face Panama, Croatia and England in the group stage.
