Togo head coach Patrice Neveu has revealed that defender Marvin Senaya has responded positively to representing the Hawks, as a growing international tug-of-war with Ghana national football team continues ahead of the March window.
The 23-year-old AJ Auxerre right-back has been named in provisional squads for both Togo and Ghana, placing his international future under intense scrutiny. Neveu confirmed he has held direct talks with the player and received encouraging feedback.
“Senaya was contacted, and I received his response. It was positive regarding Togo,” he said, while stressing that a final decision hinges on the player’s arrival in camp.
The situation intensified after Ghana coach Otto Addo included Senaya in his squad for friendlies against Austria and Germany, despite Togo preparing for matches against Guinea and Niger.
Senaya, known for his pace and attacking quality, remains eligible for multiple nations. Until he makes a competitive senior appearance, both countries remain in contention, with his final decision expected once international camps commence.
