A baby’s arm got trapped in a lift door in a terrifying moment that sent residents into a panic.
Scary CCTV footage from the residential building in western India shows the young one’s hand getting trapped in the moving doors.
Locals jump into action and desperately start trying to free the child in the lift inside a housing society in Pune, Maharashtra, on March 7.
The baby had been trying to reach out of the lift when the doors rolled open. As they opened, the tot’s hand became trapped.
Panic seized the little one, causing them to cry out for help.
Those in the lift tried to stop it from moving and open the doors manually, while others were crying out for help.
People quickly swarmed the area around the lift, hearing the commotion. Many rushed towards the baby to help others join in the effort to stop the lift and reopen the door with their hands while shouting for help.
Thankfully, after a tense two-minute struggle, the tot was able to remove their arm from the door as the surrounding locals looked visibly relieved that they were not seriously hurt.

The residents of the building lept into action, totally shocked by the sudden emergency. They managed to get the baby’s arm out of the door after a tense two minute struggle
Locals later confirmed that the child had come away unscathed with no serious injuries.
Shock echoed through the building however, not just for the little one but all those who had worked to save them.
After the incident, people reportedly urged the society management to conduct a thorough inspection of the elevator system to ensure all safety features are functioning properly.
