Former Dreams FC star, Zuberu Sharani has officially switched his international allegiance from Ghana to Togo, opting to represent the Hawks at senior international level.

The 26-year-old left-back, who currently plays for Slovak champions Slovan Bratislava, has already been named in Togo’s squad for upcoming friendlies against Guinea and Niger in the March international window.

Sharani, is among several players of Ghanaian descent invited by head coach Patrice Neveu, alongside Yaw Annor, Marvin Senaya and Kennedy Boateng.

The winger turned defender, began his professional career in 2018 with Dreams FC before securing a move to Europe later that same year to join Czech giants AC Sparta Prague.

Although he did not feature in the Czech club’s league matches, the transfer paved the way for further opportunities in Europe.

Sharani later joined DAC Dunajská Streda, where he made 41 league appearances and scored five goals between 2019 and 2022, while also spending a loan spell at MFK Zemplín Michalovce.

In 2023, the left-back moved to Slovan Bratislava, where he has since made nearly 50 appearances and scored once for the club. He also made his UEFA Champions League in October 2024 when Slovan Bratislava lost 4-0 to English giants Manchester City.

Despite his Ghanaian roots, Sharani has now committed his international future to Togo and could make his debut for the West African nation in the upcoming friendly matches.
