A ‘devastated’ family have paid tribute to a mother-of-two who was found dead in a flat as a man is charged over her murder.
Karlie Sone, 28, was found unresponsive in the early hours of Tuesday and died moments later in the block of flats in Ipswich, Suffolk.
Police were called to the scene at 1.10am by a person who had ‘concerns for the welfare’ of Ms Sone.
Paul Stevenson, 39, was arrested shortly after the mother- also known as Karlie Day – was found, and was charged with her murder.
The cause of Ms Sone’s, who was a receptionist at the football centre Goals Ipswich, death remains unknown.
Ms Sone’s family said they have been left ‘absolutely devastated’ after their ‘beloved Karlie’ has been ‘ripped away from her two daughters and her family and friends’, creating an ‘unfillable void’ in their hearts.
They said: ‘The tragic loss of Karlie has meant that her daughters will now have to face life and grow up without their amazing loving mummy by their side. They were her absolute world.
‘Karlie was the most beautiful caring soul you could ever wish to meet; she lit up any room she walked into; her smile and her infectious laugh would brighten everyone’s day.

‘She was so funny and would always have all that knew her laughing.
‘If Karlie isn’t surrounding herself with family, she was with her incredible friends raving all the way through the night to drum and bass which was her second passion to being a mother.’
The family said the mother will remain ‘in [their] thoughts and memories’ and ‘will never be forgotten’, adding: ‘She will live on through her daughters who will always be loved and cherished as she would have wanted.
‘We will never get over losing Karlie and we will forever be heartbroken.
‘Rest in peace Karlie, we all love you so much.’
Stevenson, who is yet to enter a plea, appeared at Ipswich Crown Court where a date for a predicted seven day trial, was set for September 24.
Jude Samantha Leigh added a plea and trial preparation hearing would take place in May.
Ms Sone’s death was initially described as ‘suspicious’, prompting a murder investigation to be launched.
A port-mortem examination concluded the cause of death required further investigation.
Stevenson was questioned at the Police Investigation Centre in Martlesham, near Ipswich, after he was arrested.
Officers were granted permission by magistrates to keep Stevenson for an additional 29 hours in order to question him further.
Suffolk Police said: ‘This is being treated as an isolated incident and the parties are understood to have been known to each other.’
Officers are still appealing for help from anyone with information about the incident.
