Ghana’s entertainment industry has been thrown into mourning following news of the death of actress Araba, widely known for her role in the popular television comedy series Efiewura.
The news of her alleged passing was first shared by Canada-based Ghanaian social media personality Evelyn Aidoo, popularly known as Serwaa Broni.
In a video posted on her TikTok page on Monday, March 9, 2026, Serwaa Broni said she had received several calls from people seeking confirmation about rumours circulating online regarding the actress’s death.
According to her, she later contacted some individuals close to the actress who confirmed the sad news.
In the video, Serwaa Broni stated that Araba passed away while receiving treatment at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton, Canada. However, she did not provide the exact date of the actress’s passing.
“I have her brother George’s number. I have called him several times, but he has not picked up the call. So I called a few other people, and it has been confirmed that she died at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton,” she said.
Serwaa Broni also claimed that the late actress had been battling several health challenges prior to her death, including heart-related complications. She indicated that it was unclear whether those conditions directly contributed to her passing.
She further noted that the actress had been unwell for some time.
