Ghana’s Olympic bronze medalist, Samuel Takyi, delivered a dominant performance on Friday, stopping Togo’s Fatiou Sarouna in the third round of their eight-round bout at the Cathedral Clinic on Professor Atta Mills High Street.

Takyi, now with a perfect 9-0 record, used the fight as a tune-up ahead of a highly anticipated clash with Alfred Lamptey. Sarouna, now 16 losses, two wins, and two draws, saw his record slip further. Takyi thanked his fans on social media, saying, “Another victory, thank you, Lord, and to my team and supporters.”

In addition, Jacob Tetteh Laryea, known as Chorkor Fire, made a successful return, stopping his opponent in round three. Meanwhile, Joseph Antwi (Junior Bazooka) knocked out Felix Mankattah in the first round. Rocky Otoo, however, was defeated by Moro Seidu.

The event, organized by SEM Promotions under Lord Eddie Coleman, gave idle boxers a chance to stay sharp. Coleman announced another event in Kwahu during Easter, underscoring boxing’s appeal as a major tourist draw in Ghana. He thanked all sponsors and supporters for their vital backing.
