A man has been killed amid a shootout with immigration officials after he tried to race through a US Border Patrol checkpoint at the Texas border.
The driver was shot dead at the Sierra Blanca checkpoint in the Big Bend Sector on Wednesday after he fired at officers, the outlet said.
He was allegedly trying to flee a border patrol checkpoint, Fox News reporter Brooke Taylor wrote on X.
The man allegedly crashed his car while trying to flee and then began firing. Agents returned fire and killed him, Taylor said.
The shooting involved Border Patrol agents and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers, Fox News first reported.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Homeland Security for comment.
