The Energy Committee of Parliament has assured the country of a continuous supply of petroleum products despite the ongoing tension in the Middle East.

Deputy Ranking Member, Collins Adomako-Mensah, stated that while they have no control over fuel prices, they can implement measures to ensure availability.

Speaking on OTEC FM’s Dwabrem show on Monday, March 2, 2026, Adomako Mensah said the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has assured the country has seven weeks of fuel cover, adding that the committee is monitoring the situation closely.

“There will be no shortages,” he emphasized.

Adomako Mensah noted that prices may rise, but the priority is ensuring fuel availability.

“At this stage, we are handicapped because we have no control over prices on the international market, but the good news is that we will not experience any shortage for now,” he said.

The committee’s assurance comes amid global market uncertainties due to the Middle East conflict.

Ghana’s fuel supply situation is being closely watched, given its reliance on imports.
