Medeama must quickly rediscover their clinical edge Medeama must quickly rediscover their clinical edge

The Ghana Premier League title race has taken a dramatic twist after Medeama SC were held to a goalless draw by Swedru All Blacks on Sunday at the Swedru Sports Stadium.

In what was billed as a tricky away assignment, Medeama found themselves locked in a tense and tactical battle against a disciplined All Blacks side determined to frustrate the league leaders.

Despite enjoying spells of control and creating a handful of half-chances, the Tarkwa-based outfit lacked the cutting edge required to break the deadlock. Swedru All Blacks, equally resolute, defended compactly and limited clear openings, ensuring the contest ended without a goal.

The stalemate leaves Medeama on 46 points, still top of the table, but their once-commanding advantage has now been slashed to just a single point. The pressure is mounting rapidly as reigning champions Bibiani Gold Stars FC sit ominously in second place with 45 points.

For much of the season, Medeama have set the pace with attacking fluency and defensive solidity. However, recent dropped points have allowed their closest challengers to close the gap, turning what once appeared a comfortable lead into a high-stakes sprint toward the finish line.

The psychological shift could prove significant. With momentum now swinging and the margin for error shrinking, every fixture becomes pivotal. Medeama must quickly rediscover their clinical edge if they are to fend off a surging Gold Stars side brimming with confidence and belief.
