Kelvin Yeboah netted for the second game running in the new MLS season to inspire Minnesota United to victory against FC Cincinnati.
The Ghanaian-Italian forward headed home after the hour mark as Minnesota edged Cincinnati in an epic encounter at the Allianz Field.
Following a barren first half, United were awarded a freekick right at the edge of the box which struck by Tomas Chancalay with the ball hitting the upright as Yeboah headed home the rebound.
“To be honest I wanted to take the freekick because I scored from that position in the Leagues Cup game but you know Joaquin Pareyra and Tomas having been practicing freekicks so I just said okay you guys can take it. But I guess it was a goal that was suppose to come to me,” said Yeboah.
The nephew of Ghana legend Tony Yeboah started the season in fine form, netting a late equalizer in the opening game at Austin.
He has now scorer two goals in two game as Minnesota maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
Kelvin Yeboah remains eligible to represent Ghana at senior level despite playing for Italy’s youth national teams.
