The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has reaffirmed that promoting Fugu complements Kente and other Ghanaian textiles, with the broader goal of revitalising the nation’s weaving industry and strengthening the entire value chain.

Speaking at the NIB PLC Fugu Wednesday launch in Tamale, she highlighted how the initiative drives job creation, empowers women and SMEs, and retains value within local economies.

She also announced plans to establish a dedicated support fund for the weaving and fashion sectors and called on financial institutions to back indigenous textile production.

The Managing Director of National Investment Bank PLC pledged tailored credit facilities for textile producers and declared Fugu Wednesday as official corporate wear nationwide.

The collaboration underscores government’s commitment to positioning Ghanaian culture as a catalyst for economic growth and tourism development.
