The Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has pledged to build stadiums across the country if he wins the 2024 general elections.

According to him, one of the major setbacks he has noticed is the infrastructural deficit hampering the development of sports in the country.

The former president stated that the stadiums will not be for a section of the country as he intends to spread them across the 16 regions to help with their sporting activities and the nurturing of talents.

Speaking at a campaign rally in the Oti Region, John Mahama indicated that the stadiums would not only benefit those involved in sports but also create avenues for employment.

“One of the policies of the NDC is to build stadiums in every region. So in the Oti Region, we will build one for you. The NDC is the only party that will bring development to this region so that it will be noticed as the best region in the country,” he said.

John Mahama continues to embark on a nationwide campaign as he seeks to highlight his policies to the general populace with the aim of getting their votes.

The general elections are slated for December 7, 2024.
