Renowned Ghanaian gospel musician Joe Mettle has opened up about his decision to decline a potential collaboration with rapper Sarkodie.
According to him, he is awaiting spiritual direction before taking such a step.
Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, the award-winning singer disclosed that discussions about a possible feature had taken place between him and Sarkodie.
“Sarkodie and I have talked about it and so I would tell you point-blank. The thing is, it is just a door I don’t want to open. That’s it,” he explained.

Joe Mettle emphasised that his decision is rooted in his faith, noting that he is waiting for confirmation from the Holy Spirit before agreeing to any such collaboration.
“When the Spirit allows you to do certain things, He has His reasons for it. But until then… and I have too many friends. If you do one, you have to do for everyone else,” he said.
The gospel artiste further revealed that he has received calls from other musicians, including rapper M.anifest, who has publicly expressed interest in working with him.
“I’ve had a few people who have been calling me. One of them has been M.anifest. He’s spoken to me a few times. He has been calling me on radio and everywhere,” Joe Mettle noted.
He reiterated that any future collaborations would depend on spiritual confirmation.
“If I get the release from the Spirit, I’ll do it. The Spirit needs to bear witness with mine,” he added.
