Popular Ghanaian media personality MzGee has weighed in on the recent cases of violent incidents involving senior high school students, urging the public to shift focus from hairstyles to student discipline.

In a Facebook post on February 24, 2026, MzGee questioned why sections of the public were more preoccupied with debates over whether students should braid or cut their hair rather than addressing growing behavioural concerns.

“See how some of these senior high school students are misbehaving, yet some people were concerned about them not braiding their hair. Our concern should be how to discipline them!” she wrote.

Her comments come amid ongoing national debate over school grooming policies, particularly whether students should be permitted to keep braided hair or be compelled to cut it.

Meanwhile, reports and disturbing videos of students engaging in physical and sexual violence have sparked widespread public concern.

In one recent case, two students from Swedru Business Senior High School were arrested after being captured in a viral video allegedly beating and stoning a fellow student.

In a separate case, three students from Aggrey Memorial Senior High School were arrested for allegedly robbing and assaulting a student from Adisadel College.
