The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has announced that power supply has been largely restored across several affected communities following the resolution of a technical fault that triggered outages in parts of Ghana’s power distribution network.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, the Ministry said its technical team successfully resolved the fault at approximately 1:00 a.m. The disruption had affected the feeder supplying Lakeside and surrounding areas, leading to temporary power interruptions.

The Ministry added that nearly all causes of the recent outages in Kumasi and parts of Accra have now been rectified. Areas previously impacted included Achimota, Tantra Hill, Dodowa and Tesano, where residents experienced intermittent electricity supply in recent days.

The Ministry noted that engineers are continuing work to address remaining technical challenges affecting parts of Tema and Adenta. It also indicated that, outside these locations, electricity supply has remained largely stable.

The Ministry assured consumers of its continued commitment to ensuring a reliable and consistent power supply nationwide, emphasising ongoing monitoring and technical interventions to prevent further disruptions.
