The La Palm Royal Beach Hotel has officially launched its revived weekly entertainment programme, “Friday Night By The Atlantic,” aimed at promoting relaxation, local culture, and tourism along Ghana’s coastline.

The event, held at the hotel’s beachfront and attended by stakeholders in tourism, hospitality, and government, is designed to provide families, couples, tourists, and corporate workers with a space to unwind at the end of the workweek while experiencing Ghanaian music, food, and hospitality.

Speaking at the launch on Friday February 20, 2026, the hotel’s Chief Executive Officer, Kwabena Isaac Gyadu, said the programme had existed for years but was temporarily suspended to allow for renovations and improvements.

“The programme has existed for years but was temporarily paused for renovations so it could return bigger, better, and more exciting,” he said.

According to him, Friday was intentionally selected because it marks the close of a busy workweek and offers the ideal opportunity for people to begin their weekend in a calm and enjoyable atmosphere.

He added that the initiative blends entertainment, culture, and relaxation while showcasing Ghanaian sounds such as highlife and Afrobeats.

The programme’s seaside setting, he noted, makes it more than a typical hotel event, transforming it into a lively weekly beachside social experience that also enhances the hotel’s brand visibility among both local and international visitors.

Delivering the opening address, Prince Anthony Appiah, a board member of the Ghana Tourism Authority, officially declared the event open.

In a symbolic gesture reflecting coastal tradition, he proposed a toast using fresh coconut, highlighting Ghana’s cultural heritage.

He stressed the importance of promoting domestic tourism through innovative hospitality initiatives that preserve cultural identity.

The event also received commendation from Christian Tetteh of the Ministry of Education, who praised the hotel’s management for maintaining high cultural standards and improving the facility in recent years.

He described the transformation as “refreshing” and aligned with national expectations for excellence within Ghana’s hospitality sector.

In his closing remarks, Ben Okyere Ankrah, Board Chair of All Golden Beach Resorts in Ghana, encouraged guests to promote the hotel as a preferred destination for events and gatherings.

“Patronising such establishments not only supports the hospitality industry but also plays a vital role in promoting Ghanaian culture on both local and international platforms,” he said.

Organisers say the launch of “Friday Night By The Atlantic” represents a renewed commitment to strengthening tourism through culture-driven experiences, partnerships, and hospitality innovation, positioning the beachfront venue as a key social and leisure destination in Ghana’s growing tourism industry.
