The Minister of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has visited survivors of the Burkina Faso terrorist attack, who are currently on admission at the 37 Military Hospital.

A video shared on the X by 1957 News showed the minister, on Monday, February 23, 2026, first interacting with the only male survivor and then also meeting with female survivors, offering comfort and reassurances to them.

The tragic incident, which occurred at Titao, Burkina Faso, on February 14, 2026, claimed the lives of eight Ghanaian nationals, including four members of the Ghana National Tomatoes Traders and Transporters Association.

All victims were engaged in lawful trading activities at the time.

The government oversaw the evacuation of the injured, coordinated by the Ghana Air Force, while the deceased traders were buried in Burkina Faso.

In response to the incident, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued new travel guidelines for Ghanaians traveling to high-risk areas in the sub-region, urging citizens to limit movement, maintain regular communication with Ghanaian embassies, and keep identification documents accessible for swift consular assistance.
