Ghana midfielder Majeed Ashimeru endured a frustrating afternoon after being sent off less than 20 minutes into his first start for RAAL La Louviere in Sunday’s clash against K.V. Mechelen.

The 28-year-old received a straight red card in the 16th minute following a VAR review of his challenge, abruptly ending what had been a key opportunity to impress from the outset. It was Ashimeru’s third appearance for the club, having previously featured as a substitute in matches against Union SG and RSC Anderlecht.

Ashimeru joined La Louviere on loan from Anderlecht during the winter transfer window in a deal that runs until the end of the season. The move was confirmed as the club’s fourth signing of the window, with management expressing confidence that his experience would bolster the squad.

However, the early dismissal represents a setback for both player and club as La Louviere continue their push for a strong finish to the campaign.
