Ghana international attacker Caleb Ansah Ekuban has been offered a two-year contract extension by Italian outfit, Genoa in an attempt to secure his future.

The 31-year-old striker joined Genoa in summer 2021 from Turkish outfit Trabzonspor and has since established himself as a key member of the team.

With his current deal expiring at the end of the season, the Italian side has moved to secure the future of the enterprising forward until summer 2028, signaling his importance to the team.

GHANAsoccernet.com understands Genoa has already tabled the proposal as they look to tie down the former Chievo Verona and Leeds United forward.

Genoa are keen not to lose the experienced attacker on a free after his steady contribution in recent seasons. This campaign, he has featured in 20 Serie A matches, scoring 2 goals and delivering an assists across the period.

Since joining Genoa in 2021, Ekuban has racked up 117 appearances across competitions for the club, scoring 11 goals and providing 11 assists in the process.

For Genoa, tying down Ekuban is about more than just numbers. They see him as an experienced presence in the dressing room and a reliable option in attack who understands the club’s ambitions and playing style.

Securing his signature would offer continuity and stability in the forward line as Genoa look to strengthen their position in the Italian top flight over the next few years.

At the international level, Ekuban has made 13 appearances for the Black Stars since marking his debut in 2019, scoring three goals in the process.
