President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, has expressed concern over the growing injury list in the Black Stars camp ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Speaking in an interview with GFA media, Okraku admitted he is worried about the number of key players currently sidelined, describing the situation as troubling as preparations intensify for the global tournament.

Defenders Mohammed Salisu, Francis Abu and midfielder Daniel Kofi Kyereh have all been ruled out due to significant injuries. Meanwhile, Ernest Nuamah, Tariq Lamptey and Abdul Mumin have resumed training after recovering from serious setbacks and are racing to regain full fitness.

Despite the setbacks, Okraku struck an optimistic tone, stressing that the association will do its part to ensure Ghana is competitive at the tournament.

He also revealed that the GFA continues to invest in grassroots football, including an annual $100,000 allocation to supply footballs to Division Two and Three clubs nationwide.
