Dorcas Affo-Toffey has been accused of campaigning for an NPP MP and giving her GH¢100,000 Dorcas Affo-Toffey has been accused of campaigning for an NPP MP and giving her GH¢100,000

Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Savelugu Constituency in the Northern Region are up in arms, calling for the party’s Member of Parliament (MP) for Jomoro and Deputy Minister of Transport, Dorcas Affo Toffey, to be punished.

The executives accuse the deputy minister of engaging in anti-party behaviour when she attended an event hosted by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP for Savelugu, Abdul Aziz Fatahiya, in the constituency.

They claimed that Affo Toffey was at the said campaign for the NPP MP and even made a donation of GH¢100,000.

“At the said launch, Honourable Dorcas did the unthinkable and behaved in a manner which we consider and describe as anti-party… She was captured in a video saying that the NPP Member of Parliament for Savelugu deserves another term. For doing what she did, we wonder whether she knows what that meant for the NDC and what it will cause the NDC’s next parliamentary candidate come election 2028.

“In addition, Honourable Dorcas also indicated that she would at all times give out support to the MP for Savelugu, who is an NPP sitting MP. And of course, she did not miss words. She actually promised and donated an amount of GH¢100,000 to the NPP sitting MP for Savelugu. Even at the gathering, she gave out GH¢20,000 and promised to pay the rest when she returns to Parliament with the MP for Savelugu,” one of the executives read from a statement during a press briefing on February 19, 2026.

The executives, therefore, called on the national leadership of the party to sanction the deputy minister and MP for Jomoro for her actions.

They also demand that she goes back to Savelugu to apologise to NDC supporters in the constituency, adding that she also has to make a donation equal to or twice the money she gave to the NPP MP to the party leadership in the area.
