At the funeral ceremony of the Bechem manhene, Nana Fosu Gyeabour Akoto II, several interesting events unfolded that captured public attention.

Many chiefs and queen mothers gathered to pay their respects and make their appearances.

Among those present were Bechem hemaa, Nana Adwoa Po Dwamena Serwaa II; Ejisu hemaa, Nana Yaa Asantewaa II; and Mampong hemaa, Nana Agyakoma Difie II.

Former rapper now Manso Nkwanta hemaa, Nana Nyarko Aboraa Sika III, later made her entrance at the funeral grounds and began greeting attendees.

She warmly greeted the Bechem hemaa and the Ejisu hemaa, even exchanging hugs with them.

However, when it was time for her to greet the Mampong hemaa, the latter shook her head in refusal and did not extend her hand, leaving many attendees puzzled about the reason behind her snub.

With no choice but to move on, the Manso Nkwanta hemaa proceeded to greet others before showcasing her adowa dance skills to the accompanying drumming.

This incident has since led to speculations about a possible feud between the two queen mothers.

In an exclusive interview with GHPage TV, a close source revealed the backstory of their friction.

According to the source, during a recent birthday dinner for the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Manso Nkwanta hemaa arrived late.

By that time, the Mampong hemaa was already seated. The Mampong hemaa who is regarded as the leader among the queen mothers, then asked the Manso Nkwanta hemaa to sit at the back due to her lateness and she refused.

The Manso Nkwanta hemaa was said to have insisted that there is no hierarchy among the queen mothers.

The source further disclosed that the Manso Nkwanta hemaa expressed frustration over the Mampong hemaa’s habit of constantly ordering other queen mothers around.

Viewing this as disrespectful, this transcended into a disagreement ultimately leading to the Mampong hemaa’s decision not to greet the Manso Nkwanta hemaa at the funeral.

Why the Manso Nkwanta hemaa greeted other queen mothers first, before the Mampong hemaa

Traditionally, a queen mother or chief is expected to greet those directly involved, or hosting an event before addressing others.

This custom has raised concerns about the Manso Nkwanta hemaa greeting the Bechem hemaa and others before the Mampong hemaa during the funeral.
