Ernestina Fosuh, sister of the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba, has disclosed that she was denied access to view her brother’s body at the funeral home following his death.

In a statement released on February 17, 2026, she revealed that she personally visited the Transitions Funeral Home at Haatso, accompanied by her lawyer and four others, in hopes of seeing her younger brother one last time.

However, according to Ernestina Fosu, the funeral home’s manager, informed them that the family head had instructed that she should not be allowed to view the body.

“I personally went to Transition Funeral Home at Haatso, accompanied by my lawyer and four others, to see my younger brother, my only brother, whom I have loved since childhood and with whom I spoke just two days before his untimely death. I was denied access.

“The manager of the funeral home informed us that the Abusuapanyin had instructed them not to allow me to see him,” she stated.

She described the development as deeply traumatic, noting that the thought of not seeing her brother again before his burial has haunted her every evening.

“No one can truly imagine the depth of pain and trauma I have endured since that day. The thought that I might never see my brother again before he was laid to rest has haunted me every single evening,” she said.

Ernestina further disclosed that she sought legal redress at the High Court in Accra, hoping the court would grant her access.

“I placed my hope in the High Court in Accra, believing that justice would allow me that final moment. An injunction was granted, only to be revoked within one and a half hours. The court demanded GH₵2 million within two hours, before closing time that Friday,” she explained.

She described that Friday as one of the darkest and most painful days of her life, adding that she felt justice was not served.

“That dark Friday remains one of the most painful days of my life. Justice, as I understood it, was not served. Since then, I have wept many nights. Yet despite the pain, we remain resolute,” she added.
