Renowned Ghanaian reggae/dancehall musician Samini has heaped praise on colleague musician Black Sherif, noting his desire to see the artiste’s longevity in the music industry for years to come.

Speaking in an interview with GTV on February 18, 2026, the veteran artiste, recounting his own experiences, stated that he would love to see Black Sherif bigger and better, even at age 45.

“I would love to see Blacko at 45, still relevant and a bigger artiste than he is now, because that’s my story. You know, I was that young when I saw everything. I saw all the money. I saw all the women. I saw everything. So, I see him, and I just hope, and I know he knows,” he said.

According to Samini, seeing genuine connection and energy in Black Sherif’s performances reminds him of his own early career days.

He expressed excitement at the prospect of the young singer sustaining his success over the next two decades.

“It takes one to know one. When I see the young chap and when the vibe interacts for a few seconds every time we do, I know he knows where he’s coming from, and I would just be happy to see, like a 20-year span of Blacko. Imagine the things that we are yet to hear,” he said.

The veteran musician cited his own beginnings in the industry, including his first international performance, and urged Black Sherif to build on his current momentum.

“That’s what I had. Right from ages 18 to 21, I was on TV, on stage, on tour, and traveling. The first time I got to even get out of this country was in 2004. Yeah, that’s like 22 years ago that I played my first show in London,” he said.

Samini’s remarks join those of others who have praised Black Sherif’s prominence in Ghana’s music scene, adding to continued discussions about the young artiste’s influence and growing legacy.
