President John Dramani Mahama, on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, visited two victims of the Burkina Faso terrorist attack currently on admission at the 37 Military hospital in Accra.

The survivors were among Ghanaian tomato traders on board a truck, which was ambushed by armed bandits, who lined up men on board and massacred them before setting the vehicle ablaze.

President Mahama, who was accompanied by the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, commiserated with them and assured them their bills would be absorbed by the government.

The president, who was in Takoradi earlier in the morning on official assignment, dashed to the hospital immediately his flight landed to engage the victims for first-hand information on the sad incident.

Seven Ghanaians killed in the incident have since been buried, while the survivors have been successfully transported home by the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

All are undergoing counselling with the necessary support needed, while others who got injured are undergoing treatment.
