Media personality Bridget Otoo has debunked claims by the Education Ministry that a first-year day student in senior high school would require GH¢600 to buy items on the prospectus.
In a post shared on X, the outspoken journalist indicated the claim by Kwasi Kwarteng, who serves as the spokesperson of the Ministry of Education is inaccurate.
Bridget insisted that it would cost more than GH¢600 to acquire items such as books and a school bag.
“You are a liar. I raised funds for two SHS girls on this app and the items were over 3500 cedis! The chop box alone is around 250. I’m sure it’s even gone up… How much is Cutlass? Uniforms?” she posted.
On November 1, the spokesperson of the Ghana Education Service noted that a day student can obtain items such as sandals, school bags, scientific calculators, and many others.
