Aspiring National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko, has donated food items to support Muslim communities ahead of the Ramadan fast.

In a statement on February 17, 2026, Agyarko said he visited the party’s national headquarters to present bags of rice, sugar and boxes of disposable cups through the National Nasara Coordinator for distribution to Muslim faithful in preparation for the sawm (fasting period).

He explained that the gesture was inspired by Islamic teachings on charity and community support during Ramadan.

“The Hadith teaches us that even if one is not in a position to pay Fidya, simply assisting the community during Ramadan is considered a virtuous deed,” he stated.

Agyarko noted that the donation formed part of efforts to show solidarity with Muslim brothers and sisters during the holy month, which is marked by fasting, prayer and acts of charity.

As part of his engagements, the former Energy Minister also visited the party’s office in the Nima-Ayawaso East Constituency, where he made a similar donation ahead of the upcoming by-election.

He expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness demonstrated by the party’s parliamentary candidate, Baba Ali and commended the constituency executives and members for their commitment and unity.

According to him, the enthusiasm and coordination within the constituency reflect the party’s readiness for the impending polls.

Agyarko is currently seeking election as National Chairman of the NPP and has been engaging party structures and stakeholders across the country as part of his campaign.
