The Black Stars of Ghana will face Mexico national football team in an international friendly in May as part of preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The match is scheduled for May 22, 2026, at a yet-to-be-announced venue in Mexico.
Both nations are expected to use the encounter to assess players ahead of the tournament, which will be hosted in Mexico, Canada and the United States. Ghana’s squad is likely to feature a blend of locally based players, Europe-based professionals monitored by head coach Otto Addo, and selected U-23 talents preparing for Olympic qualifiers.
The Mexico fixture adds to Ghana’s growing list of preparatory matches, with friendlies against Austria and Germany already confirmed for the next FIFA international window in March. Addo and his technical team are expected to name their squad for those games in the coming days.
At the World Cup, Ghana will open their Group L campaign against Panama on June 17 before facing England and Croatia.
