    The Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has been discharged from the 37 Military Hospital following a road crash on the Bolgatanga-Tumu Road.

    According to a statement signed by Hashmin Mohammed, Press Secretary to the Education Minister, on February 14, 2026, the Minister is in good spirits and has been advised to rest as part of his recovery.

    The statement also noted that he expressed gratitude to the medical team and all who offered prayers and support during this difficult period.

    “The Office of the Honourable Minister of Education announces that Hon. Haruna Iddrisu has been discharged from the 37 Military Hospital following a road traffic accident. He is in good spirits and has been advised to rest as part of his recovery. The Minister expresses sincere gratitude to the medical team and all who offered prayers and support,” the statement read.

    The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, and the Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital Technology, Mohammed Adams Sukparu, were involved in the road crash on the Bolgatanga-Tumu Road on February 12, 2026.

    The crash occurred while the ministers and their respective teams were travelling to official engagements in the Upper West Region.

    They were on their way to commemorate the 40th anniversary celebrations of Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education in the Upper West Region when the incident happened.
