Senegal’s 2025 AFCON triumph sparked nationwide celebrations, and in a remarkable gesture, the joy of victory was taken directly to inmates at one of the country’s prisons.

During the tournament, prisoners had the chance to watch the games live on television, experiencing the same excitement, tension, and jubilation as fans across the nation.

Following Senegal’s victory in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, the celebrations have reached a new level when members of the team’s management visited the prison with the coveted trophy.

In a video circulating online, the team’s representatives were seen walking through the prison corridors and into the cells, giving inmates a close-up view of the glittering AFCON cup.

Prisoners were even given the rare opportunity to hold the trophy themselves, allowing them to feel intimately connected to Senegal’s historic triumph.

The gesture was met with joy and amazement, allowing inmates to share in a moment that is usually reserved for players and fans beyond the prison walls.

Many were seen smiling, taking turns to lift the cup, and celebrating alongside the visiting management team.
