Chelsea youngster, Tyrique George has opened the door for a potential nationality switch from England to play for the Black Stars of Ghana.

The 19-year-old Chelsea academy graduate who completed a loan move to Everton on the deadline day of the January transfer window on February 3, 2026, has revealed that his mother is a Ghanaian.

Tyrique George in his first interview as an Everton player said “my mum is Ghanaian and my dad is Nigerian.”

Born in Camden, London, on February 4, 2006, Tyrique George is eligible to play for the Three Lions of England, Super Eagles of Nigeria or the Black Stars of Ghana.

Tyrique George has already made a mark in the England Under-21 team, scoring twice in four appearances for the Young Lions.

He has also represented England at U16, U17, U18, and U19 levels before playing for the U21 in the European Under-21 Championship qualifiers in late 2025.
