Ghanaian rapper and producer EL has praised the growth and transformation of the country’s music industry, highlighting improved collaborations and quality music as key drivers of international recognition.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM on February 3, 2026, the award-winning musician stated that he is impressed with the new wave of artistes and the strong sense of unity among them.
According to EL, the current generation of musicians are collaborating more freely within each other’s spaces, something he believes was missing during his era.
“I like the energy in the music industry. I like the way the collaborations are happening and the way the new ones are collaborating more in each other’s environment.
“That’s something we were lacking in the music industry, especially coming from my generation,” he said.

He noted that the overall quality of Ghanaian music has significantly improved, making it more appealing to global audiences and opening doors for international opportunities.
“I think the quality of the music has also improved and that’s what is opening more doors for us internationally,” he shared.
The rapper further expressed optimism about the future of the industry, predicting that Ghanaian artistes could soon receive nominations at major global award schemes such as the Grammys.
“I also like the fact that we’re getting more opportunities out there and I’m sure very soon, a Ghanaian artiste will get nominated for Grammys or other big awards because we’re actually exposing ourselves,” EL added.
