Legal practitioner, Maurice Ampaw has appealed to the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party for the 2028 elections, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, and the party leadership to consider Dr Brian Acheampong for the vice president position.

Speaking in an interview on Wuntomi TV, the lawyer explained that the Ashanti region has already accepted Dr Bawumia as flagbearer and believes Dr Acheampong would complement him well.

Maurice Ampaw pointed out that Dr Bryan Acheampong enjoys strong backing in his constituency and commands loyalty among the youth.

He argued that he has the energy, confidence and experience needed for high office.

According to him, if Dr Bryan Acheampong and Kennedy Agyapong had contested without Dr Bawumia in the race, Dr Bryan Acheampong would have emerged winner.

“Bryan has taken over. Overtaking is allowed. The youth follow him and he is eloquent. He also has experience,” he remarked during the interview.

The lawyer also praised Dr Osei Adutwum, describing him as a leader for the future.

However, he raised concerns about Kennedy Agyapong, noting that he was not comfortable with his physical condition.

He further argued that Kennedy Agyapong should not be considered for the vice president role because, in his view, there is no chemistry between him and the current flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
