Asante Kotoko have expressed concern over the slow pace of justice in the prosecution of the killer of their devoted fan, Nana Pooley.
Nana Pooley, a staunch supporter of Asante Kotoko was stabbed to death on Sunday, February 2, 2025, during violent incidents at a Ghana Premier League match between Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC at Nsoatre.
One year after his murder, no one has been prosecuted, prompting Asante Kotoko to express frustration over the slow pace of the case.
According to Sarfo Duku, the Communications Director of Asante Kotoko, “It’s quite unfortunate” that justice has not been served after one year of Nana Pooley’s death.
“It’s been a year of reflection and anxiety because till date, there hasn’t been any serious headway as far as the prosecution of some accused persons are concern.”
“The last adjournment was taken in view of the fact that the Magistrate who has been sitting on the case has been promoted to the Circuit Court and so he was not available.”
“The implication is that he will not continue with the case and right now, in simple terms, we are at the preliminary stage of the case,” he said.
